Welcome to MHIMA
The Michigan Health Information Management Association (MHIMA) is a component state association of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and has approximately 3,100 members. AHIMA now represents over 103,000 health information professionals who are dedicated to the effective management of personal health information needed to deliver quality healthcare to the public. Founded in 1929 to improve the quality of medical records, MHIMA is committed to advancing the HIM profession in an increasingly electronic and global environment through leadership in advocacy, education, certification, and lifelong learning.
Congratulations to the Michigan Health Information Management Association (MHIMA), winner of the RACSO award at the 2017 AHIMA Convention & Exhibit. Inspired by our Convention host city, Los Angeles, CA, the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” CSAs were challenged to make a video inspired by film or music—with an HIM twist—for the chance to win AHIMA’s first and only RACSO (Oscar spelled backwards) award.
Just in time for Halloween, MHIMA’s winning video, “Chiller,” is based on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, complete with MHIMA members as dancing zombies. The video was shown at Convention during General Session, and won a trophy and cash prize for MHIMA.
