Dear Fellow LHMHIMA Members,
The Lake Huron Michigan Health Information Management Association is continuing to grow in membership and is looking for volunteers such as yourself. LHMHIMA has several open positions this year and would love to have your name on the ballot. Serving on the board is a rewarding opportunity that leads to professional growth through sharing your talents and planning future events for the association. Would you please consider volunteering for one of these open positions listed below?

Open Positions
- President – Elect
- Treasurer
- Nominating Committee (3 Positions Available. The individual with the most votes will serve as chair of the Nominating Committee.)
President – Elect (3 Year Commitment)
1st year President-Elect: Facilitate arrangement of educational programs for the membership to include the LHMHIMA annual conference, webinars, and in-seat education sessions throughout the year. In the absence of the President shall assume the duties of President.
2nd year President: Preside at all LHMHIMA meetings and events. Keep open lines of communication with MHIMA board. Attend MHIMA board meetings to give LHMHIMA regional updates. Monitor and oversee board members and duties as assigned
3rd year Past President: Attend board meetings as an advisor.
Treasurer (2 year commitment)
Maintain bank account. Receives all money for educational programs and compiles sign in sheets. Must submit monthly statements showing accounts receivable and payable. Keep adequate and correct accounts of all of the financial transactions of LHMHIMA. Treasurer will be bonded, with bonding fees being paid by LHMHIMA. Submit all tax reporting for state and federal.
Nominating Committee (1 or 2 year commitment) – 3 positions
The member with the most votes will be the chairperson of the nominating committee (2 year commitment). The second year the chairperson serves in an advisory role. The committee shall prepare the ballot for the annual meeting to elect new officers. Work on networking with other members to fill open positions on the ballot.
