Scholarship Award

Deadline:

The application form is to be completed online and submitted by the March 15th.

Description:

The MHIMA Scholarship Award is presented each year to an outstanding student who is currently in an approved HIT/HIM accredited program and will be continuing their education during the next academic school year.

Criteria:

The following must be met to apply for this award:

  1. Student Member of AHIMA/MHIMA
  2. Student must have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0.
  3. Student must be continuing their education at an accredited HIT/HIM program during the next academic school year.

How to Apply:

The application form is to be completed via online submission on or before the deadline for consideration of that year’s award. The application link is above.

Evaluation and Selection:

The MHIMA Foundation Board of Directors will evaluate each application based on the Evaluation Criteria.  The awardee(s) is the applicant(s) with the highest total number of points.

 

Evaluation Criteria:

Overall Grade Point Average (GPA)20 points
Contributions to the Profession30 points
Honors, Awards and Recognition20 points
Faculty Recommendation10 points
Student Essay20 points
Total100 points

Restrictions:

Student may receive the award one time.
