The application form is to be completed online and submitted by the March 15th.
Description:
The MHIMA Scholarship Award is presented each year to an outstanding student who is currently in an approved HIT/HIM accredited program and will be continuing their education during the next academic school year.
Criteria:
The following must be met to apply for this award:
- Student Member of AHIMA/MHIMA
- Student must have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0.
- Student must be continuing their education at an accredited HIT/HIM program during the next academic school year.
How to Apply:
The application form is to be completed via online submission on or before the deadline for consideration of that year’s award. The application link is above.
Evaluation and Selection:
The MHIMA Foundation Board of Directors will evaluate each application based on the Evaluation Criteria. The awardee(s) is the applicant(s) with the highest total number of points.
Evaluation Criteria:
Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) | 20 points |
---|---|
Contributions to the Profession | 30 points |
Honors, Awards and Recognition | 20 points |
Faculty Recommendation | 10 points |
Student Essay | 20 points |
Total | 100 points |
Restrictions:
Student may receive the award one time.
