In 1993, I graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. At the conclusion of my internship at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, I was hired as clerical staff. By the end of 1993, I was asked to establish and oversee the cancer registry.
In October 1994, I became a certified Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Two years later, I accepted a position at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, as lead cancer registrar.
In September of 1997, after 2 ½ years of working in a hospital cancer registry, I became a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR).
In 1999, I accepted a position with the Michigan Cancer Surveillance Program as a Quality Improvement Field Representative. After 13 years, I returned to the hospital setting in June of 2012; taking a position as the Cancer Data and Quality Coordinator at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti.
Finally, in October of 2014, I accepted a position with McLaren Greater Lansing as Manager of the Tumor Registry – bringing me closer to home. My husband and I live in a 159 year old farm house north of Lansing that has a fire engine red metal roof. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, refinishing furniture, cooking, quilting, traveling, and spending time with my family.

No refunds are allowed after June 19, 2017 without Board approval. A $25 administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.
