SEMHIMA Student Scholarships

The Southeastern Michigan Health Information Management Association is proud to announce the Annual SEMHIMA Student Scholarship. This year SEMHIMA will be offering two $500 and two $250 Scholarships.

What is the Student Scholarship?

The scholarship is a $500 cash award and a certificate of achievement, or a $250 cash award and certificate of achievement, which will be presented to the outstanding HIA or HIT student currently in or recently graduated from an accredited Southeastern Michigan based HIA or HIT program. This award will be presented at the annual meeting on April 13, 2024.

Who is Eligible?

Students currently enrolled in an accredited HIA or HIT program in Southeastern Michigan as well as students that have graduated and are now eligible to take the certification examination during the current year.

Students must have a minimum overall HIM grade point average of 3.0, and hold AHIMA and SEMHIMA membership as a student or active HIT/HIA.
